Students from the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega—Dora Marjanović, Filip Šimunović, Matea Nagl, and Nives Prša—are currently completing a one-month study period under the Erasmus+ program at the partner institution, Ordu University (Ordu Üniversitesi), in Turkiye.
During their stay, they regularly attend classes in an international academic environment, expanding their knowledge and skills in tourism and related disciplines. In addition to theoretical coursework, the mobility program includes practical workshops and cultural field activities. A notable highlight was a workshop on preparing traditional Turkish dishes, where students gained firsthand experience with authentic culinary techniques, local ingredients, and the rich gastronomic heritage of the Black Sea region.
This mobility experience stems from a long-standing friendship and inter-university connection. Arzu Aktas, a Turkish student who had previously spent the summer semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development, warmly welcomed and hosted the students in Ordu. As a former incoming Erasmus+ student, she served as a host, helping the students navigate their new surroundings and demonstrating the value of two-way cooperation and lasting ties.
Beyond their academic commitments, the students are using their free time to explore the city's historical sites and natural landmarks, as well as the surrounding area. Despite the occasional rainy days by the Black Sea, they are sending back excellent impressions, warm greetings, and a wealth of experience from Turkey—an experience that will undoubtedly enrich their professional and personal development.
