Assist. Prof. Hrvoje Budić delivered a lecture to students in the Fisheries study program at Cochin University of Science and Technology as part of the Human Resource Management course. The topic of the lecture was “The Role of Human Resource Management in Ensuring Quality, Food Safety, and Sustainability in the Seafood/Fisheries Sector.”
During the lecture, students were introduced to the importance of human resource management in the fisheries and seafood processing sector, with a particular emphasis on product quality, food safety, and sustainable business practices. Special attention was given to the role of employees, professional competencies, continuous education, and the implementation of HACCP and ISO standards in modern business operations.
The objectives of the lecture were to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience and laboratory work, develop an understanding of sustainable human resource management, and critically analyze the impact of employees on organizational efficiency and success in the seafood/fisheries sector.
