Further activities within the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) research project “Tourism 5.0: User Satisfaction through the Digital Transformation of a Tourist Destination” (IP-2025-02-1899) continued throughout September 2026, focusing on the international dissemination of research findings, knowledge exchange, and the further development of the project team’s competencies.
The project is led by Berislav Andrlić, with Marko Šostar, Antun Biloš, Mahir Zajmović, and Vladimir Ristanović serving as members of the research team. As part of the project’s international scientific activities, project team member Antun Biloš participated in the 37th Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems – CECIIS 2026, held in Varaždin from 16 to 18 September 2026. The conference featured the presentation of the paper “Booking Platform, Generative AI, or Open Web? An Experimental Comparison of User Experience in Tourism Accommodation Search”, authored by Antun Biloš, Berislav Andrlić, and Vladimir Ristanović.
In parallel, from 16 to 19 September 2026, the Faculty of Tourism and Rural Development in Požega hosted Miglė Eleonora Černikovaitė from Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania. During her visit, she delivered four training sessions for project team members, faculty staff, and other interested stakeholders. The sessions addressed the following topics: “Generation Z Employees in Tourism Customer Service: Communication and Customer Experience”, “The Role of Emotional Design in Tourism Destination Marketing”, “Tourist Consumer Behavior in the Digital Era: Understanding Travel Decisions”, and “AI-Driven Customer Experience in Tourism: Opportunities and Challenges”.
These activities contributed to the exchange of international knowledge and expertise while further strengthening research capacities in the areas of digital transformation, tourist behavior, and customer experience in tourism. They also provided an opportunity to foster international collaboration and support the continued development and dissemination of research conducted within the “Tourism 5.0” project.
