As part of the Erasmus+ project and activities related to international cooperation, field research was organized at the Zlatni Lug hotel and restaurant, a long-standing partner of the Faculty and an example of good practice in the field of tourism and hospitality.
The visit was attended by student Izzatilla Rakhmatullayev from the Hospitality Management and Tourism School, Central Asian University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, who is staying at the Faculty during the summer semester. The student is writing his master’s thesis on the topic “Employee Job Satisfaction in Požega – An Empirical Study in Tourism,” as part of which he will conduct a survey among employees of Zlatni Lug.
Zlatni Lug was selected as one of the tourism and hospitality establishments included in the research due to its recognizability, quality of operations, and cooperation with the Faculty. During the visit, the student became acquainted with the organization of work, business processes, and methods of managing and developing the tourism and hospitality offer.
The visit was organized by Vice-Deans Marko Šostar and Berislav Andrlić, with the hospitality of Operations Manager Ena Pandžić, who is also an alumna of the Faculty. Ena Pandžić presented the newly renovated hotel project, the development activities of Zlatni Lug, and the marketing techniques they use to attract guests and strengthen the establishment’s visibility in the tourism market.
This activity is a continuation of many years of mutual exchanges between the Faculty in Požega and the partner institution from Tashkent, as well as their successful cooperation in the field of joint scientific publications. It further confirms the importance of international cooperation in the exchange of knowledge, experience, and good practices in the fields of tourism and higher education.
The field research enabled the connection of theoretical knowledge with practical examples from the business environment and further strengthened the Faculty’s cooperation with partners from the local community. The student was also provided with a valuable opportunity to prepare for his research and gain a better understanding of the specific characteristics of the tourism and hospitality sector in Požega.
